Mentoring men where the rubber meets the road.
This is a short insight (with pictures) from a good friend Dave and his son Andy that highlights their restoration of a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Beside the restoration of the mustang, Dave shares his own personal story of restoration.

This 1970 ford mustang mach 1 endured a lot of abuse, dents, and general neglect during its first three decades. When I bought it, it was in bad shape— no longer able to do what it was originally designed to do. It was headed for permanent destruction unless someone restored it. Seven years of weekends and help from talented friends and professionals brought this car to a better, though not perfect, condition. Several times during the restoration process, we found ourselves frustrated and wishing we could talk to the original designer of the car.

The Original Designer
This Mustang isn't the only restoration I've experienced up close. Many years ago, the way I lived caused a lot of personal damage and dents in my life. I wasn't able to do what I was designed to do. Like the Mustang, I was headed for destruction, and the "junkyard" was a deadly place that would separate me from other people and from a relationship with God forever. But unlike my experience with the Mustang, I was able to find my Original Designer, the only one who could truly restore me. His name is Jesus Christ. Because he loved me, he died on a cross to take away all of my sins, and he rose from the dead, allowing me and all who trust in him to have eternal life. Because of His death and resurrection, I have been forgiven, my life restored to his original design, and I will live forever with him in heaven
A Restoration Forever
As soon as the Mustang's restoration was completed, the new parts we had installed began to wear again. New seals began to decompose. Despite the work and the investment, the Mustang will not remain in its restored condition forever. But when Jesus restores a person, the results are eternal. In heaven, restored bodies never grow old.
Another Important Restoration
If the dents and abuse that you have experienced on the road of life have left you in need of restoration, look to Jesus. It won't cost you a thing because he has already paid the bill. Jesus' restoration is a free gift; you just have to receive it. Start by talking to your Original Designer. Jesus, I admit that I have sinned in my life. I am broken and need restoration. I believe that you are God's Son and that you died to take the penalty for my sins. Please forgive me for the wrong things I have done and come into my life as my leader and my savior. Use me as you designed me to be used. If you made this decision, or if you would like to know more about the restoration that lasts forever, feel free to email me at [email protected].
